Counselling, With Heart
I work to support those experiencing emotional injuries to the heart, whether from acute or complex trauma, relational injuries, grief and loss, bereavement, parenting children with intense physical or emotional needs, or any other challenge that is seeking to heal. I often work with gifted and creative adults and can provide counselling and therapy for a variety of needs from the perspective of understanding the intersection of giftedness and trauma, depth of emotions and extistential and/or spiritual questioning that can come with giftedness. My work, education and life experiences have led me to acquire knowledge in the areas of trauma, (medical trauma, attachment and relational trauma, acute and complex trauma), pediatric psychosocial support, grief and bereavement, child and lifespan development, supporting the emotional and developmental needs of gifted children and adults, wisdom practices, nature based healing and experiential learning and community approaches to holistic care. I am currently a PhD student in Human Relationships, Spiritual Care and Pscyhotherapy with Martin Luther College at Wilfrid Laurier Universtiy and am available to support individual, community, and/or larger organizations in subject matter expertise. I hold a ‘Wise Practice Circle’ group once per month over Zoom. This is a gathering for helping professionals interested in developing wisdom in policy and practice in their own work and as a community.
